`' CAMAS Coloado. Inc. • • Page 10
Aggrcgatc Production Facility stormwater Management Plan
waters are directed away from the facility and potential pollutants and eventually flow
into the sedimentation pond.
3.b.2.2 Materials Handling and Spill Prevention
Specific management practices employed at the New Thornton facility intended to
reduce the potential for contamination of stormwater which contacts "significant"
materials are presented on Section 3 -Form A.
3.b.2.3 Sediment and Erosion Prevention
The majority of the plant site consists of loose and/or compacted sand and gravel soil
substrate. As a result, sediment and erosion control are of concern for stormwater
management. However, the pit is the ultimate collection point for all sediment eroded
from the property. It does not leave the property and will likely be excavated at some
later date.
Partial natural revegetation is occurring on soil and aggregate piles around the
periphery of the disturbed area.
3.b.2.4 Other Pollution Prevention Measures
In order to prevent possible contamination of stormwater, the stormwater
Management Plan Administrators (identified in Section 3.a) have implemented a
procedure for the cleanup and removal of all non-essential and discarded equipment,
as well as chemicals and chernical storage containers from the site. In addition,
steps are being taken to relocate lubricating fluid containers within containment
vessels of appropriate holding capacity for both raw product and contact stormwater.
3.c Existing Discharge Sampling Data
No known stormwater discharge sampling data has been collected.
3.d Preventative Maintenance
A preventative maintenance program has been established for the New Thornton
facility which includes inspection and maintenance of stormwater management
devices as well as inspection and testing of plant equipment and operational
systems. These inspections are intended to uncover conditions which could
potentially lead to breakdowns or failures that result in discharge of pollutants to
storm sewers or surface waters.
