• 2.1.2a S.rlits Apparent Completeness Review Response Insert <br />7Phen a mine has been permanently closed, each mine entry at that <br />mine will be sealed off by means of an adequately constructed seal, <br />similar to the type shown on the next page. <br />The seals shall be located in settled and unbroken ground. If this is <br />impractical, then the site will be prepared by injecting the area <br />with a bonding material. <br />Each seal will consist of an inner wall, some 12 inches in thickness, <br />20 feet of packing injected with liquid cement and an outer <br />concrete taper shaped plug. The inner wall, being the initial seal <br />to close off an entry, will be constructed simultaneously in all <br />entries of the mine. This will insure adequate ventilation and safe <br />working conditions until the work is completed. <br />All barriers will be installed in accordance with applicable Mining <br />Enforcement Safety Administration Regulations. <br /> <br /> <br />M-3a <br />
