2.0 RECLAMATION PLAN - NORTHERN NO.1 (FF'SEAM) MINE <br />The area to be reclaimed (approximately 12.6 acres) <br />under this plan will be returned to range and wildlife habitat, <br />the dominant land uses in the vicinity. Mostly native vegetation <br />will be reestablished on slopes which have been returned to the <br />approximate original contours with topsoil replaced as specified <br />below. Predominately native vegetation was chosen over other <br />alternatives because it best meets requirements of the projected <br />post-mining land use, discussed below. <br />disturbed area <br />2.1 ABANDONMENT OF DRILL HOLES AND ADITS <br />2.1.1 Drill Holes <br />The following abandonment plan is proposed: <br />I. Non-Aquifers - EackfilI with cuttings to ten feet <br />below the surface. Insert a spider, or other <br />suitable, plug at ten feet and fill with cement to <br />three feet below surface. Cut off the well casing <br />three feet below the surface, and backfill the hole <br />to ground level. <br />2. Nan-Artesian Rquifers - Seal with a solid cement <br />• plug twenty feet above and below each aquifer. <br />Insert spider, or other suitable, plug at ten feet <br />and fill with concrete to three feet below surface. <br />Cut off well casing three feet below surface and <br />backfill hale to ground level. <br />3. Artesian Aquifers - Seal hole with cement from <br />bottom to within three feet of surface. Cut the <br />well casing off three feet below the surface, and <br />backfill the hole to the ground surface. <br />4. All sites will be temporarily marked with a wooden <br />stake. <br />2.1.2 Adits <br />Mine entries which are temporarily inactive will be <br />sealed by a chain link. gate within the entry and adjacent to the <br />surface.
