They are aware that there is a potential for
subsidence underneath the lines, and a letter stating this is presented in Figure S-7.
Northern Coal will be responsible for closely monitoring the lines which may be
affected, and repairing any damages that may result from the subsidence.
5.7 ARCHAEOLOGICAL STTES
As shown oa Exhibit S-1, the shaded portions represent the locations of
• the Archaeological Sites within the lease boundary. Since the time the letter
was written, the mine plans were modified and sites 5RB1238, SRB3237, SRB1230,
5RB1224, 5RB1223, SRB1236, and 5RB1228 will not have secondary mining per-
formed beneath them and therefore should not undergo any subsidence.
Site SRB1231 may have maximum subsidence if it is determined that Curtis Creek
can be subsided without disrupting the stream flow; otherwise, the site will be
protected along with Curtis Creek. The sites overlying azeas of maximum
subsidence will be monitored and should realize only a lowering in elevation with ao
material damage.
5.8 STRUCTURES AND FACILITIES OWNED BY NORTHERN COAL
COMPANY
It has been interpreted from the law by NCC that if structures aze
• owned and controlled by the mine operator, the structures are not subject to the
5-20
