Kvaerner Metar <br />Project No. 306900 <br />General Specfication No. GC-01 <br />Site Work <br />All precast concrete manhole risers and tops shall conform to the requirements of ASTM <br />C 478, using Type V cement. <br />When completed, the tops of manholes, field inlets, and other structures shall be <br />accurately brought to the elevations called for on the drawings: or, if no elevation is <br />indicated. they shall be brought flush with the surface of the surrounding ground ar <br />pavement. <br />9.0 FENCING <br />Chain link fence and gates shall be of galvanized No. 9 gage wire, woven in 2 in. <br />diamond mesh in accordance with ASTM A 392. The fence fabric shall be stretched and <br />securely fastened to the posts. top bar and the bottom tension wire. The top bar shall be <br />1-112 inch diameter schedule 40 pipe and the bottom wire shall be one strand of 9 gage <br />wire to prevent easy lifting. The weight of the zinc coating on the diamond mesh shall be <br />not less than 1.2 ounces per square foot of actual surface covered when tested in <br />accordance with ASTM A 90. <br />Chain link fence shall be 6 h high with extension arm carrying 3 barbed wires extending <br />12 in. above the fence at a 45 degree angle leaning outward. <br />Fence posts shall be spaced ten feet on centers and shall be set a mmimum of three feet <br />into concrete footings. Top of footings shall be crowned to shed water. All pipe posts <br />shall conform to ASTM A 53, and shall be galvanized in accordance with ASTM A 123 <br />with a minimum of 2 ounces per square foot of surface area. <br />Line fence posts shall be 2-t12 in. diameter. Schedule 40 Pipe. Corner, end and pull <br />posts shall be a mmimum of 3 in. diameter. Schedule 40 Pipe. End, comer, gate and <br />latch posts shall be braced to the nearest line (pull) post with a 3/8 inch diagonal tension <br />rod, from top of the pull post to the bottom of such posts. Each rod shall be equipped <br />with a turnbuckle or truss tightener with tensile strength equal to that of the rod. Line <br />posts shall be braced with two 3!8 inch diagonal tension rods, crossed, at Intervals not to <br />exceed 1000 feet. <br />Where required, gates of similar construction shall be provided, including latch device <br />suitable for locking gates with padlock. <br />10.0 ROADS <br />Location, alignment and width of roads shall be as shown on the drawings.
