They would include the analyses
of the diversion channel cut (both in the existing conditions,
+ a stabilized configuration and a reclaimed configuration). crush-
ing and screening level fill (both in their present configuration
and in the reclaimed configuration), other fills, if necessary,
and the stability analysis of the waste pile, including the foun-
dation material.
Results of the studies would be summarized in a report that will be
used by the mine management for the decisions on the remedial
measures that may be required at present. The report would provide
design recommendations for the mine reclamation plans and for the
waste disposal area.
We expect that several meetings with the representatives of the
CMLRB and CWI would be held during the Phase 2 geotechnical studies.
• STAFFING
The Phase 2 studies would be performed under the overall direction
of Mr. Michal Bukovansky. Most of the proposed work, including the
field work and the analyses, would be performed by Mr. Graeme Major,
GEO-HYDRO rock mechanics engineer. The installation of the moni-
tozing wells and the performance of the proposed permeability tests
would be carried out by Mr. Vladimir Straskraba. Mr. Straskraba
is a senior ground water hydrologist with considerable experience
with similar projects.
SCHEDULE
We would be able to commence work on the proposed Phase 2 studies
immediately following your approval. It should be expected that
about 2 weeks would be required to mobilize the drilling crew.
We expect that a report on the Phase 2 studies could be sub-
mitted to you in about 4 months following your approval of this
proposal. Partial results of our study could be forwarded to you
• during the course of our work, if necessary.
