• 2.05.4(21 (d) Topsoil Redistribution <br />Asa pre-law mine, no topsoil was ever salvaged from [he original mining operation. In <br />the fall of 1992, all areas [o be re-vegetated were covered with a minimum of 6 inches <br />of topsoil which was imported into the site at substantial cost to Sunland. This was <br />done for both the yard area and the reclaimed bench. The permit did no[ require <br />importing of topsoil for the bench area. Soil thickness tests done by Greg Lewicki <br />showed that the thickness in all areas was 6 inches or greater. <br />2.05.4(2)(e) Revegetation <br />At the request of the landowner, and approved by the Division, the following seed <br />mixes were applied by broadcast methods in the fall of 1992: <br />Yard area: <br />Timothy 20 Ibs acre <br />Orchardgrass 20 Ibs/acre <br />Smooth Brome 20 lbs/acre <br />• Mulch was also broadcast at the rate of 2000 Ibs/acre and nitrogen-rich fertilizer was <br />spread at 200 lbs/acre. <br />Bench Area <br />Slender Wheatgrass <br />Western Wheatgrass <br />Kentucky Bluegrass <br />Mountain Brome <br />Needlegrass <br />Birdsfoot Trefoil <br />13 ]bs/acre <br />13 lbs/acre <br />8 Ibs/acre <br />3 Ibs/acre <br />5 Ibs/acre <br />1.5 Ibs/acre <br />Mulch was also broadcast at the rate of 2000 Ibs/acre and nitrogen-rich fertilizer was <br />spread at 200 Ibs/acre. <br />184 <br />- • <br />Mid-Term Review 3121(01 <br />~1c <br />
