This Department has reviewed the engineering report and operations plan
for the proposed landfill to be operated in the Trapper Coal Aline, approximately
seven miles south of Craig, Colorado. This site, operated as designed, can
comply with the minimum standards and Department regulations, as required by
the Solid ldaste Disposal Sites and Facilities Act, 30-20 Part 1, CRS, 1973,
as amended.
Ti~is landfill has the recommended approval of this Department and is eligible
• for designation by the County Commissioners. The landfill must be operar.nd
and maintained in accordance with the report prepared by the City engineer
of Craig, Colorado, and submitted to this Division for review in June, 1950.
As recommended in the engineering report, this landfill is to be used only for
the disposal of municipal solid wastes. As the report reviewed did not address
the disposal of liquid industrial wastes, hazardous wastes, sludges and fly ash,
the receipt, possession or disposal of such materials at this site is prohibited
