• The SEDCAD+ demonstrations provide information on the Peak Settleable Concentrations
expected in effluent from the vegetative debris filters. The vegetative debris filters and
concentrations are summarized in the following table.
Table 7-3 Vegetative Debris Filters and Peak Settleable Concentrations
~J
•
SAE Facility Vegetative Filter Size of Vegetative Concentration of Peak
Location' Filter Settleable Solids (effluent
Width Length from the vegetative filter,
~/1)
(feet) (feet)
Topsoil Stor- at the toe-of--slope 2003 303 0.003
age Pile of the pile
Fan Bench below break B-1 30° 60" 0.50^
Fan Bench below break B-2 68 258 0.498
Staging Area below culvert C-3 65 2255 0.485
(west portion)
Staging Area below culvert C-4 306 456 0.086
(east portion)
Staging Area at the toe-of--fill 380' 20' 0.00'
(fill slope)
' See Enclosure 1 for a key to locations
2 Maximum allowable concentration = 0.50 ml/1
3 See Enclosure 7 ° See Enclosure 14
5 See Enclosure 17 6 See Enclosure 21
See Enclosure 25 8 See Enclosure 16
8. SAMPLING AND MAINTENANCE
If runoff results in concentrated flows, occasional sampling will be conducted by Mountain Coal
Company to verify the effectiveness of the erosion control features. Features of the SAE will
be regularly inspected and repairs as may be required accomplished to maintain the integrity of
the SAE.
9. CONCLUSIONS
This SEDCAD+ analysis review demonstrates that discharges from the sites would meet the
effluent SSp standards of 0.5 ml/1 following a 10-year 24-hour storm event,
(Lone Pine Gulch SAES Demonstrztioq 12 October 95, Page l2 of 13)
