EUIIBIT G
iVater Information
N
The proposed gravel operation will consist of excavating
tl~e total gravel thickness and crushing and screening this
material to yield marketable sand and gravel products. During
the excavation process, the pit will require de~vatering. They
dewatering process will involve pumping the pit and discharging
the water into the Gunnison River.
A NPDES permit has been obtained through the Colorado
Department of Health to discharge into the river. Tests
conducted during the previous year indicate that the discliar~e is
within the allowable limits set by the permit.
Due to the proximity of the pit to the Gunnison River anc
the high water table in the area, it is felt that the dewatering
. operation will have little, if any, effect on the ground water to
adjacent properties. The sandy gravel strata along the river
maintains a constant water table in the area, except in the
immediate area of the pumping operation. Pumping operations
conducted during previous dewatering operations at this pit
have not indicated any adverse effect on ground water in the
area.
IVater requirements during the mining and crushing operations
will amount to approximately 2,000 gallons per day. This will be
used for maintenance of the haul road and dust control on the
crusher.
Water will be obtained from the landowner, who has 14 shares
of water which he will make available for dust control.
