3

Weed Control
Seeds of annual weedy species will be abundant in
topsoil and manure. Thus herbicide treatment will be
required to establish an adequate stand and ground cover
dominated by the warm-season grasses. An application of
bromoxynil when grasses are in the seedling stage and a
later season application of 2,4-D should control the
broadleaf annuals.
Grazing Management

Good management will be required to keep revegetated
areas from being overgrazed. A grazing management plan
and grazing agreements with landowners and lessees should
have a priority equal to topsoiling, seeding, mulching, or
irrigation.
