~ks and Gesso, LLC
Groundwater
The approximate locations of wells in the vicinity of the site are shown on Exhibit
C-1. These wells, within 600 feet of the mine pit, are currently used for irrigation
and domestic purposes. De-watering may temporarily lower adjacent ground
water levels during initial phases of mining; however, as clay lining is installed to
isolate the mine area from surrounding ground water, surrounding ground water
levels will stabilize at an original elevation.
Consumptive Use of Water
A Temporary Substitute Supply Plan will be prepared to address all possible out
of priority depletions of ground water, resulting from mining activity. The Plan will
include estimates of water usage and consumption and a proposed plan for
replacing out of priority depletions.
Water Availability
Additional water, if necessary for mining purposes, will be obtained from the
South Adams County Water and Sanitation District (see Appendix E).
Floodplain
The entire site is outside the 500 year floodplain, according to FEMA's Flood
Insurance Rate Map No. 0800100065 G (August 16, 1995).
124"' Estates -Regular 112 Application 01029.W~
124'" Estates Partners 16 August 2001
