6dnks and Gesso, LLC
clockwise manner and will result in highwalls of approximately 1 to 1 slope.
When the highwall along the eastern boundary of the site is established, backfill
with clay material ripped from the floor of the excavated area, together with
settled material from washing and dewatering will begin to create permanent
slopes around the perimeter of the proposed reservoir. Mining in Area 2 is
projected to require up to 8 months to complete.
Phase 3
As mining continues into Area 3, recoverable topsoil and overburden will be
stripped and consolidated in Area 2. Dewatering trenches will be maintained, as
necessary. As mining proceeds over a six to eight month period in Area 3,
backfill of slopes will be completed along the site's eastern boundary and will
continue in Area 2.
Phase 4
Having completed mining, the Applicant will remove equipment and utilities and
finish the slopes and clay lining of the reservoir. Completion of Phase 4 is
projected at 2-1/2 years after the mining operation is initiated. Reclamation
activities, as described in Exhibit E -Reclamation Plan will be completed within 6
months of completion of mining.
Mining Methods
The Applicant proposes to dry mine the property. Due to existing grade, runoff
and accumulating ground water will flow naturally into a collection sump in the
southwest corner of the site; but dewatering trenches will be excavated, as
needed, to assure dry mining conditions. Initial mining will occur in the north
center of the site, Area 1, and will proceed generally in a clockwise fashion.
124 Estates -Regular 112 Application 01029.WD
124'" Estates Partners ~ August 2001
