Additionally, the road improve- <br />ments shall result in a 29 ft. wide driving sur ace, with 6 ft. <br />wide, two inch thick asphaltic surfaced shoulder,~ith ditches 3 ft <br />wide and 1 fC deep; and a 150 ft long ai111 10 ft wide paved <br />deceleration lane at the entrance to the mine. The asphaltic <br />surface from the mine entrance to the int rsection of County Road <br />335 and I-70 Interchange shall be stripe/ in a manner to delineate <br />driving lanes and shoulders. The remaJJJJJJifider of County Road 335 will <br />be chip and sealed to the first int~ection within the Riverbend <br />Subdivision..." <br />Presently, County Road 335 i~1 a graveled road sealed with a <br />chemical sealer for dust suppJJJJ~ession and is approximately 30 feet <br />wide. The county government ,9dvises that the total right-of-way is <br />SO feet wide as the County Road 335 follows the historic railbed of <br />the Colorado-Midland Raillery (see Exhibit 9.2-1 and Figure 4.2-3). <br />Parts of County Road 335'have been in use for about 100 years as it <br />• served some of the old,; turn-of-the-century coal mines. The county <br />i <br />owned right-of-way wi111 not extend onto the permitted mine property <br />except on that port/ion where the 2" pipeline crosses under the <br />road. ~ <br />4.2.5 Cut and Fill Volumes <br />The surface facilities areas is the site of initial development <br />where temporary office and change House will be set and the per- <br />manent shop building erected while the rock tunnels are completed. <br />As development in coal begins, the slurry holding pond and a <br />temporary materials handling (screening) facility installed. <br />The cuts and fills shown in Figure 4.2-5 were established during <br />the early construction and initial rock tunnel development.
