}
... S-.. ~, c•
Mr. Rodney L. Banks -2- April 6, 1982
Exhibit A
The following operations appear to have no problems with the legal description
as given: 82-42, 82-43, 82-44, 82-47 and 82-98. The other three operations
have the following questions to be answered concerning the Legal descriptions:
~2-45, Glen Johnston Site N1: From the map given, it appears that Land in more
than one quarter quarter section may be affected. All of the quarter quarter
sections involved should be given.
` /82-46, Cripple Creek Mountain Est. Site b1: Again, from the map, it appears
~( that the affected Land could overlap into other quarter quarter sections than
,//\ the one given. Please clarify this matter.
2 82-49, Emil Clark Site: There is confusion as to whether the Iega1 description
should.be_the SE'aSE~r fas i_s_4iven in the text) or the SE'rSW~r (as is shown on
the map) . Please clarify this matter.
Exhibits B and C
Z. More detail is needed in all of the mining plans. Items such as the
depth of thq deposit to b~ removed, slopes of the working faces, depth of
topsoil to 7~e removed, plans for sediment control, and any other mining plan
items unique to a given pit should. be given. For ease of organization of such
matters (and all of the other exhibits), the permit worksheet will be very
helpful. Filling it out completely far each operation may go far toward
answering my questions.
2. The permit worksheet contains a space fora map of the operation. The
maps that you have given in your applications have too large a scale (thus
making the pits too small) to show any details of the operation. I suggest
v using the space provided in the worksheet to draw maps with a more appropriate
%~~ scale {for example, a range of I" = SO' to 1" = 200'). The maps should show
those items given in the legend, sediment control structures (if necessary to
the operation) and stream channels that are adjacent to, as well as within, the
permit area. Sediment control for such stream channels is especially important.
,/ 3. Immediately adjacent landowners (if any) should be shown on the map.
`Exhibit D
1. Water Resources
/ Specific information is needed for each operation that includes planned
water usage (if any) and the source of this water, potential impacts to
. drainages, ground water impacts and details of sediment control plans.
