This redesignation of <br />land use is made only for permitting purposes; therefore Peerless <br />Resources, Inc. does not feel that any of the surface owners within the <br />permit area should be contacted. Besides, Arness-McGriffin Coal Company <br />(Sam Arness) is the majority owner within the permit area and has no <br />problem with identifying the land use as "wildlife habitat". <br />• 2. The applicant has provided some information on historic _mines <br />located in the Coa Gu ch vicinity and permit area. T e app icant <br />needs to provide the following information in addition; the type <br />and descri tion of minin methods used for each mine and the uses <br />of an prece ina mining if oval a e. <br />RESPONSE: <br />All past mining in the Coal Gulch area has been conducted using room and <br />pillar methods.
