Discussions with the landowner, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and review of a Division
of Wildlife referral on an adjacent property indicate that no threatened or endangered
species are likely to be found on this property.
The property includes river corridor riparian habitat that is being protected by a 300 foot
buffer zone from the north bank of the Arkansas River. Wildlife typically found along the
river include deer, waterfowl, turkey and various small mammals.
The proposed reclamation plan is wildlife habitat, including ponds with reclaimed
vegetated banks and surrounding vegetated open space, all of which will be beneficial to
wildlife populations.
