AREA Ell (6.9 ACRES):
Location: Across the excavation from area E10.
Condition: A somewhat less steep slope than the east side of Area E10.
Invaded to a small extent by vegetation.
Future Reclamation: Under the current plan this slope would be layed
back to about a 3:1 and revegetated (as described in original permit and the
1985 amended permit). Under the amendment that is currently under design this
slope would be totally removed and become part of an essentially level area
that would extend approximately 1800 feet to the east of the crest of this
slope. Transit Mix recently acquired the land east of this slope which makes
the amended plan possible.
Current Reclamation: Go east to the permit line and using cut and fill
create a final slope and revegetate.
Disturbance Reduction Program: Not included.
AREA E12 (8.0 ACRES):
Location: The bottom of the excavation that forms areas E8, E9, E10,
and E11.
Condition: A generally flat area with local excavations to acquire
coarse gravel layer under the sand deposit.
Future Reclamation: Level area through backfill processes and cut and
fill methods. Revegetate. Under the amendment currently under design this
would become part of drainage area that would drain the entire area to the
north and east of this area under a plan prepared by the drainage district
many years ago.
Current Reclamation: Cut and fill leveling followed by revegetation
using deep rooted species.
Disturbance Reduction Program: Not included.
AREA E13 (6.0 ACRES):
Location: To the south of the excavation immediately east of Academy
and north of Bradley Road.
Condition: Although not clearly discernible on the map, this contains
the topsoil that was stripped when the excavation to the north was done. It
is not known what volume of soil is present and determining that volume, due
to the lumpy configuration, would be an almost impossible task to complete
with any degree of accuracy. It is estimated that about 9 acres is covered
with topsoil piles. If the average depth (this is actually not known) is
taken to be 9 feet then the volume of soil is on the order of 25,000 cubic
yards.
Future Reclamation: This soil would be used to reclaim the excavation
slopes to the north as well as the excavations that would occur in this area
after combining with original topsoil in this area.
Current Reclamation: The soil could be used to reclaim slopes to the
north of this area or it could be left in place. Use in reclaiming the slopes
to the north would probably be the most beneficial use, but the haul distance
is long and would require trucking followed by distribution.
Disturbance Reduction Program: Not included.
Page 19 Bonding Information M-73-007/M-77-213 January 7, 1992
