<br />' EXHIBIT D <br /> RECLAMATION PLAN <br /> <br /> 1. Overburden <br /> The operations being permitted under this pla n will not involve <br /> the removal of any overburden material. The proposed activities <br />1 at both the Bates-Hunter mine and the Golden <br />areas that have been extensively disturbed Gilpin mill are in <br />by past operations. <br /> As a result, no topsoil or overburden will be disturbed. <br />In general, if any topsoil is encountered during the proposed <br />operations, the topsoil will be salvaged and stockpiled for <br />reclamation purposes. Topsoil stockpiles will be seeded and <br />' stabilized to eliminate wind and water erosion. <br />2. Final Slopes <br />No act:ivities, such as overburden removal, open pit mining, etc., <br />are being permitted under this plan. However, CCCM agrees to <br />reclaim any rock material generated under this plan to final <br />' slopes of 3:1 prior to reclamation. <br />3. Topsoil Thickness <br />' Because the areas being permitted under this plan have been <br />extent>ively disturbed by past operations, there is very little, <br />if any, topsoil available for salvage. It is not possible to <br />commit to the thickness of topsoil to be used in reclamation <br />activities but any topsoil salvaged will be evenly distributed on <br />the reclaimed tailings area to promote vegetation. <br />' ~. Seeding <br />' Seeding associated with reclamation activities will occur in <br />either early spring or late fall. Fertilizer or other <br />enhancements will be determined by soil testing after the area is <br />covered with the best available material. The seed bed will be <br />' disceci to minimize compaction and provide for best adsorption of <br />precipitation and soil amendments. <br />5. Seed Mix <br />The seed mixture shown in Table 1 is proposed for the areas to be <br />' recla:med under this plan. <br />6. Seeding Method <br />Seed will be mechanically broadcast and either raked or walked in <br />with +a tracked vehicle. <br /> <br />D 1 <br />
