• t~ks and Gesso, LLC
established on the slopes to reduce erosion and encourage stable plant growth.
Topsoil will be smoothed along the shorelines and furrowed as seedbed
preparation for successful seeding and growth of native grasses. Discing of the
topsoil may be required due to compaction while in storage. This will be
performed prior to seeding, if necessary.
Reveaetation
All surface areas disturbed by mining activities will be topsoiled and drill-seeded
for final reclamation with the seed mixes shown in Tables E-1 and E-2. These
two seed mixes have been developed based on recent correspondence (August
12, 1999) with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), who
identified these mixes for use on a similar site near this proposed permit area.
The seed mix specified in Table E-3 is for use on topsoil storage berms and other
areas requiring a rapidly growing seed mix.
Two permanent seed mixes were developed based on two prevailing ecological
types on the Green/Croissant property: one for flat, wetland areas near the
proposed reservoir ponds, and the other for drier upland areas.
Maintenance
Mowing will be performed for at least two years after seeding to help establish
regenerating stands of grasses and to control weed infestation. Seeded areas
will not be mulched with a straw or hay mulch, as no large areas will be exposed
to wind or rain erosion. Fertilizer will be applied to areas of the site where poor
nutrient availability is indicated by a failure of seed to become established.
GreeNCrdssant Property Santl and Gravel Mine.CDMG.112 Pemrt 20023
Loveland Ready Mix Concrete, Inc. ~ g March 2001
