• P-3.
graph on page ~k2 of the original Application narrative)
will b~ seeded in 1986. Also as described in the Recla-
mation Plan, the side slopes have been graded to 3:1 or
flatter, and I'm told, approximately 10" of topsoil has
been evenly redistributed (rather than the 6 to 8" noted
in the Plan), scarified and is now ready for seeding. The
addition of fertilizer and mulching will also proceed as
planned.
When the reseeded area appears to be well established,
in about a year, we will request to have this portion of
the site released from further obligation. Until such
time of release, we will need to temporarly post a finan-
cial warranty for an estimated 20 acres of disturbance.
Exhibit F - Reclamation Plan Map
1. We believe this map accurately accounts for the present
condition and topography as described in Exhibit C-3.
Exhibit G - Water Information
1. Please be assured that every reasonable effort will be
made to protect the area from sedimentation or from any
possible gully effects on the reclaimed embankments or
mine floor. Due to the high porosity of the topsoil
material and exposed mine-floor areas, we do not anticipate
any run-off problems.
2. We will fully comply with the requirements of the Office of
the State Engineer (their letter of March 21, 1986) in the
event ground water is trapped in a lake or if water is used
for commercial or industrial uses.
Exhibit I - Soils Information
1. Glad the information was adequate.
Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs
1. We believe no addition costs are necessary because of the
ongoing and planned mining practices. More specificly,
the costs of stripping topsoil material and immediate back-
casting are charged to specific projects as they are done.
Thus, the operator will only open an area as needed since
he maintains a self-propelled Clark Scraper ( 18 cuyd )
on site for that purpose.
2. Stockpile materials will only be moved in the course of
an orderly marketing program. Only the present partially
depleted topsoil stockpile remains and the cost of reshaping
for temporary reseeding is insignificant.
3. Your point is well taken and we will agree
warranty for 20 acres computed at the rate
puted on page 5 of our original narrative.
the .rate of .$1,250 per acre, 20 acres will
We, therefore request the Financial Warran
in the amount of $25,000.
to posting the
per acre com-
Computed at
total $25,000.
ty be established
