The dis- <br />charge point is located in the Southeast I/4 of Southwest 1/4 <br />of Section 9. The discharge is through an overflow weir lo- <br />cated in the impoundment berm along the river. Discharge <br />l from pond x2 shall be designated as discharge point 002 and <br />1 samples shall be taken at this point. Containment of pond N2 <br />is approximately .34 acre feet. <br />1 Pond number 3 is located on the south bank of the North Fork <br />of the Gunnison River near the Fan Portal facilities. The <br />discharge is located in the Southeast 1/4 of the Southwest I/4 <br />of Section 9. The discharge is through an overflow weir lo- <br />cated in [he impoundment berm along the river. DISCUSSION <br />Salinity <br />In compliance with the "Regulations for Implementation of the Colorado <br />' Salinity Standards Through the NPDES Permit Program", the permittee shall <br />sample for salinity in the wastewater effluent on a monthly basis until six <br />samples have been analyzed. Thereafter, monitoring shall continue on a quar- <br />t terly basis. The Division will review the first six months of data and deter- <br />mine if a waiver of numeric limitations can be granted based on the salt-load <br />to [he river being less than one ton/day (or 350 tons/year). IF a waiver is not <br />granted, then [he permittee has an additional six months to submit a report in <br />' accordance with the Salinity Regulations, addressing economic feasabili[y of salt- <br />removal. <br />' .
