(e) There shat! be no operations conducted on lands in sec. l5, T. 6 N., R. 92 W.,
6tlt P.M. from March 1 to June 15 to protect nesting sage grouse. This restriction may be
waived if a survey, approved by the authorized officer, indicates the area is unsuitable for
nesting habitat.
(t) No surface disturbance shall be allowed within 200 feet of an active stream
channel supporting riparian vegetation, springs, ponds, or reservoirs in order to avoid
de,radation or potential riparian conditions or water sources.
(g) All activities off existing maintained roads that result in surface rutting in excess
of four inches shall be suspended during periods of adverse conditions such as thawing,
Heavy rains, snow, or flooding. Restoration of excessive ruts shall be required.
(h) Any fences that are cut during the course of operations shall be repaired or
replaced.
(i) All exploration drill holes must be capped with at least five feet of cement and
plugged with a permanent plugging material that is unaffected by water and hydrocarbon
gases and will prevent the migration of gases and water in the drill hole under normal hole
pressures. For exploration Boles drilled deeper than stripping limits, the licensee, using
cement or other suitable plugging material approved by the Little Snake Resource Area
Manager, shall plug the hole through the thickness of the coal bed(s) or mineral deposit(s)
and tltrott~lt aquifers for a distance of at least 50 feet above to 50 feet below the coal bed(s)
or mineral deposit(s) and aquifers or to the bottom of the drill hole. A lesser cap or plug
ittay be approved by the Little Snake Resource Area Manager. Item A illustrates the
minimum requirements for plugging drill holes.
(j) One copy of the drill hole data, including lithologic and geophysical logs, coat
analyses, and any cross-sections and isopach maps shall be submitted to the Little Snake
Resource Area Manager within 30 days after each calendar year. The requirements for
submission of drilling and abandonment information are given to the licensee herewith as
Item B. The licensee's location map must show access trail locations and exact hole
locations appropriately identified by number or letter. Submitted data must be tied to the
Bole ,lumber or letter designation. All holes shall be geophysically logged with natural
~atnma, density, caliper, or resistivity logs.
This license consists of the terms and conditions in Sec. I through 14 on seven pages, of
which this is the seventh page, the licensee's approved exploration plan, Item A which
illustrates minimum requirements for plugging drill holes, and Item B which outlines the
requirements for submission of drilling and abandonment information.
CYPRUS EiviPiRE CORPORATION
QV cx.yi GryQ~
Frank J. od
Vice resident and Controller
Title:
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
By:
James E.
