Areas of contention are highlighted on the letter.
As of yet we have not recieved one complaint from local residents or
tourists, quite the oposite the tourists seem to be overjoyed that something
like this mine exists.
Glaringly white trailer-- Could be changed to an earth tone if requested by
an agency.
In response to the objection of the pristine area of the Pike County Forest
(I don't know of any Pike County Forest. )
I do not believe that the Wehking's are the keeper of the keys to the 1872
mining law.
Scenic Overlook -- I have never heard the maintenance turn around refered
to as an overlook, all the overlooks I have seen were on top of a mountain
not the bottom of the valley.
Multiple places-- All items need to be strategically placed on the mine
site to be functional and practical (Refer to the letter of February 1, 2002
to Sara Mayben -District Ranger.
Eye sore-- As of yet I have had no complaints- Reference Federal
Regulations -refer to CITE: 36 CFR 228.8 (WAIS) Mining Claims and
Sites on Federal Lands - copy- enclosed -also refer to Sara Maybens letter of
February 1, 2002.
Scenic Values-- Will comply with DMG
The location of facilities-- Will place on the space where they are
functional.
T'he disturbed areas at any given time will not increase.
