2.05.4(2)(e)(vii) This was addressed above.
2.05.6 Mitigation of Surface Coal Mining Operation Impacts
2.05.6(3)(b)(iii) Wyoming Fuel Company agrees that quarterly
monitoring is inappropriate for the North
Fork of Bolton Draw. It was agreed on July 17
1981, that Wyoming Fuel Company would monitor
flows in North Bolton Draw during periods of
discharge. This discharge will normally occur
during spring runoff.
2.06 Requirements for Permits for Special Categories of Mining
2.06.8 Surface Co al Mining and Reclamation Operations on Areas
or Adiacent to Areas, Including Alluvial Vallev Floors
As requested by the CMLR staff, Wyoming Fuel Company
conducted additional alluvial valley floor mapping within
the North Fork of Bolton Draw in order to determine the
following:
1) Areas of alluvium containing active channels (by
OSM definition being at least 3 feet wide and 0.5
feet deep at bankfull stage).
2) Areas having no active stream channels.
n
3) Areas in or adjacent to active stream channels which
are probably subirrigated (as evidenced by the
presence of subirrigated plant species, soil mottling,
etc.).
4) Acreage of a reas containing ac tive stream channels,
alluvium and areas of probable subirrigation.
5) Potential fo r flood irrigation on units of this size
in the North Park area.
Figure 3 of this Addendum is a map documenting items 1-4
listed above, concerning additional alluvial valley floor
identification in the Pit 2 vicinity of the North Fork of
Bolton Draw. Holocene alluvium (Qal) has been previously
mapped in Main Bolton Draw in the configuration shown on
both the Geologic Map (Exhibit C-2) and on the Alluvial
Valley Floor Identification Map (Exhibit 2) from the April
14, 1981 application. The greatest upstream extent of this
alluvium is also shown on the above referenced Figure 3.
The rationale for terminating the unit at this point is
explained in Section 2.06.8(3) on Pages 108-109:
"(Main) Bolton Draw has an identifiable stream channel
and an active flood plain. The active flood plain,
which is mapped as Qal...is usually 100-200 feet wide
and consists of locally derived clay and silt .......
-6-
