SOIL TESTIIJG - RULE 2.05.4(2)(e)(vii)
• With the salvage of soil material from the river relocation area,
adequate topsoil will be available for the completion of reclamation of
the Mine No. 1 and 2 areas. Analysis of the topsoil to be salvaged and
used in reclamation will be conducted in the near future.. One soil
sample will be taken from the topsoiled area of the western portals
(Bear No. 2), and one soil sample will be taken from the regraded
facilities area which will not be topsoiled. Samples will be sent to
Bookcliffs Commercial Laboratories in Steamboat Springs for analysis of
nitrate-nitrogen, organic matter, phosphorous, and potassium. The
results of the analyses will be sent to the Division. In the event the
soil analysis indicates nutrient deficiencies exist in the soil that
:night affect successful revegetation, an adequate fertilization plan
will be developed and submitted to the Division for approval prior to
implementation.
n
U
•
-14-
