•
Exhibit L
Reclamation Costs
Revision M 1 -Page 20 of 30
Reclamation of the project site will consist of importing till material, approximately 650,000 cubic yards,
to replace the volume of sand and gravel mined from the site, such that it may be reclaimed back to its
original grades. Imported fill soils will consists ofnon-hazardous soil, concrete, rock, and brick such that
no single piece of material has a dimension larger than two (2) feet on any face. No material larger than six
(6) inches in diameter will be placed within the top two feet of the final grade.
To minimize the amount of reclamation bonding requred for the project, the applicant would limit the
excavation pit area (backfill area, sand and gravel highwall, and overburden highwall) to no more than
three acres. By limiting the size to three acres, the estimated volume of backfill material required to
reclaim the site will be between 130,000 to 150,000 cubic yards.
The applicant has existing stockpiled material stored at the site that will be used for the mining opetations.
At the present time, there are 50,000 cubic yards of fill located near the southwest corner of the site, 9,000
cubic yards located on a bean at the southeast comer of the site, and 9,000 cubic yards stored along the
north property line. The applicant also has 68,000 cubic yards of material to remove from the Persigo
Gravel Mine (permit #M-2000-031).
The reclamation cost estimate assumes that a majority of the reclamation work required is located the
farthest point away from the material stockpile locations. The estimate assumes the following:
3 Acres to be backfilled/compacted;
150,000 CY of fill will need to be required;
130,000 CY of fill is onsite;
Stockpiled Material to be loaded and trucked, 1/3-mile round trip haul;
l5 total acres requves topsoil replacement;
30 acres to be disked, mulched, seeded and fertilized;
Gravel haul roads and scale house to be demolished;
Settlement pond at I acre to be demolished;
# DESCRIPTION QUAN UNIT UNIT/$ TOTAL
1 Import Fill, Truck, Dumped At Pit 20,000 CY $ 6.00 $120,000
2 Spread /Compact Import Fill 20,000 CY $ 0.40 $ 8,000
3 Move /Place Fill Stockpiled At Site 130,000 CY $ 0.50 $ 65,000
4 Demolish Settlement Pond (1 Acre) 5,000 CY $ 0.50 $ 2,500
5 Remove Haul Roads/ Scale Structure 1 LS $ 2,500.00 $ 2,500
6 Topsoil Placement From Stockpile 6,000 CY $ 0.30 $ 1,800
7 Mulch Site 32 AC $ 50.00 $ 1,600
8 Disc Site 32 AC $ 100.00 $ 3,200
9 Seeding 32 AC $ 100.00 $ 3,200
10 Fertilize Site 32 AC $ 25.00 $ 800
11 Weed Control 32 AC $ 100.00 $ 3,200
TOTAL 5211,800
