-,. <br />:~~: ~ ~: <br />- ~.-.: : . <br />GRAND VALLEY COAL COMPANY <br />~- •~. ~ Permit No. 13GA257-3 <br />_ Initial Approval (Amended) <br />--,ii. .:Page 3 <br />PARTICULATE EMISSIONS CONTROL PLAN <br />THE FOLLOWING PARTICULATE EMISSIONS CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE USED FOR <br />ENFORCEMENT PURPOSES ON THE SOURCES COVERED BY THIS PERMIT, AS REQUIRED BY THE <br />AIR QUALITY CONTROL COMMISSION REGULATION N0.1. THIS SOURCE IS SUBJECT TO THE <br />FOLLOWING EMISSION GUIDELINES: <br />a. Mining Activities -Visible emissions not io exceed 20%, no off-property transport of visible <br />emissions. <br />b. Haul Roads - No off-property transport of visible emissions shall apply to on-site haul roads, <br />the nuisance guidelines shall apply to off-site haul roads. <br />c. Haul Trucks - No off-property transport of visible emissions except that when operating off the <br />property of the owner or operator, the applicable guidelines shall be no off-vehicle transport <br />of visible emissions. <br />• Control Measures <br />1. Water, with chemical stabilizers added if necessary, shall be applied to the haul road to control <br />fugitive particulates. <br />2. Dirt or other material deposited on State Highway 139 shall be removed in a timely manner. <br />3. Coal storage shall not exceed 6,000 tons at any given time. <br />4. Crushing and screening shall be controlled by water sprays as necessary to control fugitive <br />particulate emissions. <br />5. Conveyors shall be covered but not necessarily air tight. Transfer points shall be equipped with <br />water sprays to control particulate emissions. <br />• 045/17/1 <br />-~ <br />
