overburden. raw material. intermediate products, byproducts. finished products or waste products located at the mining
site are permitted to discharge stormwater associated with mixing operation into watesa of the state of Colorado. The
term mixing operation include utive and inactive mining activitie.
2. Industries Covered Under this Permit
This permit is intended b authorise most new or existing discharges composed entirely of atormwater from metal mining
operation that are required by Fadenl reguLtioa to obtain a permit. The term 'metal' is Head to distinguish obis pert
from the coal mining sad the sand sad gavel mining general stormwater permits.

b. Types of Activities Covered by this Peewit:
1) This permit authorizes all saw and existing discharges composed entirely of stotmwata associated with
active and inactive metal mining operation. (See Rationale, Bettina III for an eaplaaatioa of exemptions
for uncoatamiaated stormwater sad recLimed mines.)
2) This permit may also temporarily authorize existing discharges composed entirely of stotmwater from my
mining operation that is currently covered by as iadividval CDPS permit for discharge of prates water.
3. Amolitation. Due Data
L Application Due Data: At least thirty days prior to the anticipated date of discharge, or by October 1, 1992,
whichever is later, the owner (or operator whoa Wes owner does not operate the facility) of the facility shall submit
m application provided by the Division.
