The <br />term mixing operation include utive and inactive mining activitie. <br />2. Industries Covered Under this Permit <br />This permit is intended b authorise most new or existing discharges composed entirely of atormwater from metal mining <br />operation that are required by Fadenl reguLtioa to obtain a permit. The term 'metal' is Head to distinguish obis pert <br />from the coal mining sad the sand sad gavel mining general stormwater permits. <br />L Del:Ntiom <br />1) Stormwata is precipitation-induced surface nmoff. <br />2) Mining operation include facilities cbuaified as Stmdard tn~~fi+•t Clasaifiatioa Codes 10 through 14 <br />(mineral industry), including active or inutive mining activities. This definition indude operation that <br />have temporarily cased mining and are is 'temporary cessation' statue with the Colorado Division of <br />Minerals sad Geology. <br />3) InatYive mining opezatiom are mixing site that are not being actively mined. <br />Other DeFmitiom can be found in Part LD. of this permit. <br />b. Types of Activities Covered by this Peewit: <br />1) This permit authorizes all saw and existing discharges composed entirely of stotmwata associated with <br />active and inactive metal mining operation. (See Rationale, Bettina III for an eaplaaatioa of exemptions <br />for uncoatamiaated stormwater sad recLimed mines.) <br />2) This permit may also temporarily authorize existing discharges composed entirely of stotmwater from my <br />mining operation that is currently covered by as iadividval CDPS permit for discharge of prates water. <br />3. Amolitation. Due Data <br />L Application Due Data: At least thirty days prior to the anticipated date of discharge, or by October 1, 1992, <br />whichever is later, the owner (or operator whoa Wes owner does not operate the facility) of the facility shall submit <br />m application provided by the Division. <br />The completed dtscharge application shall be nrbmimed to: <br />Colorado Department of Health <br />Water Quality Control Division <br />4210 East 11th Avenue <br />Denver, Colorado 80220 <br />Attentim: Permits sad Enforcement Sxtion <br />
