The seed mixture recommended in your letter is
a good variety for wildlife and should do well in the arid climate
around Naturita. Successful reclamation of the site with these
species will be an attractant to wildlife, creating a diversity of
wildlife habitat from the existing terrain. .~,s far as requirements
for woody stemmed shrubs in this area, the species list outlined in
your letter is acceptable to our Division without any woody stemmed
species.
As I suggested on the phone this morning, you may wish to talk to
the local Soil Conservation Service regarding site specific soil
types, planting conditions and species adaptability to maximize
revegetation success.
Please feel free to call if I can be of further assistance.
Sincerely,
Rick Sherman
[wildlife Biologist
cc:Carl Mount, MLRD
Bob Clark
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES.
