The lower part of
the home is made up of stone and mortar; the upper part is wood, as can be seen
in Photo Number 11. The lower part of the home is approximately 45 years old; the
upper part of the home was added on 18 years ago. Commencing the inspection of
the exterior at the front door and rotating clockwise. Photo Number 12 is a photo
of the porch and threshold, the threshold showing some cracking as is evident in
Photo Number 12. There is separation between the mortar and the stones on the
right side of the door and on the left side of the door. The porch is made of
flagstone and mortar and shows cracking, mainly curing cracking. Now moving to
the left, above this flagstone porch is a wooden deck off the second story.
Continuing to the left there is some spalling from the mortar, here and there,
between the stones and mortar. Photo Number 13 is an example of the condition of
this side of the home. There are two windows on this north side that do not show
anything exceptional other than noted in Photo 14, showing some spalling. There is
a dog house obscuring a portion of this side of the home. Now to the east side of
the home, a change in type of rock used. An example of the condition of this side
of the home will be Photo Number 15. Three windows on the lower story of this
home. The upper story is wooden; the wood is weathered and unpainted. It looks in
pretty good shape, some buckling of the timbers. An example of the condition is
Photo Number 16. Continuing to the souteast corner of the home, there is a
considerable amount of mortar here on this side of the home. It appears to be a
patch; Photo Number 17 depicts this patch. Rotating onto the backside of the
home, the south side. This side of the home is all wooden, the entire side. A
little bit of buckling in some of the wood, especially on the second level and
here portions of the eaves look dried and buckled. A photo depicting the general
condition of the south side of the home is Photo Number 18. There are two windows
on the upper story; one window on the lower story on this side of the home.
Nothing exceptional of note, a few cracked boards, a few nail pops, but generally
depicted in Photo Number 18. Rotating now onto the west side of the home; this
side, too, is wood sided on both upper and lower stories. There is a door and a
large picture window. Photo Number 19 is a general description of this side of
the home. A wooden porch on this side of the home, in fairly decent shape. It has
been painted and is weathered. Turning back to the north exterior, here on the
northwest corner is a wooden stairway leading up to a wood balcony that runs the
full length of the upper story.
