<br />SECTION B <br />The following findings and specific approvals aze required by Rule 4. <br />I. Roads <br />The road that connects the permit area to Jackson County Road 23a will be retained <br />as part of the final reclamation plan for the Canadian Strip Mine. The roadway was <br />a pre-existing access road to an oil well, and through an executed agreement <br />(Appendix S) will continue in place after reclamation is completed. <br />The road was upgraded to meet the performance standards for haul roads prior to <br />iu use as such. The section of haul road between the previous facilities area and the <br />access/entrance haul road will be reclaimed as part of the reclamation plan (page <br />35). A parking area and turn-around have been included in the post-mine design of <br />the road (Figure 2). <br />Information regarding roads is found on page 35 of Volume I, Appendix 5 of Volume <br />III and in Figure 2. <br />The operation is in compliance with the requirements of this section. <br />II. Support Facilities <br />The former mine facilities at the Canadian Strip Mine included an office trailer, <br />shop, crushing plant, and truck scale. The previous locations of these structures are <br />shown on Figure 2 of the permit document. These facilities have been removed. <br />A description of the former mine facilities, coal handling structures, support facilities <br />is found on pages 30 and 56 of Volume I of the permit application. <br />No specific approvals are required in this section. This mine is in compliance with <br />this section. <br />[II. Hydrologic Balance <br />All runoff from the disturbed area was controlled within the sediment control system. <br />Pond No. 1 is a large pond with a standing pool and is at the northern part of the <br />Pit No. 1 area. Pond No.2 is in the southern part of the Pit No. 1 area. Pond No. <br />4 and Temporary Impoundment No. 1, located in the Pit 2 area were not constructed <br />Canadian Strip Mine, C-81-026 17 <br />July 31, 1992 <br />
