Page 3
features. This area will be added to the formal survey list this
fall.
Block 1
Moffat Area, Block 1 was evaluated using the methods described in
BLM Technical Note No. 346. The erosion condition composite soil
surface factor score for the survey of the southern section of this
site is 10.6, which places it in the Stable erosion class. The
erosion condition composite soil surface factor score for the
survey of the northern sector of this block is 40.0, which places
it at the high end of the Slight erosion class. The tabulated
results for this survey are shown in Table 1.
Block 2
Moffat Area, Block 2 was evaluated using the methods described in
BLM Technical Note No. 346. The erosion condition composite soil
surface factor score for this site is 7.1, which places it in the
Stable erosion class. The tabulated results for this survey are
shown in Table 2.
Block 4
Moffat Area, Block 4 was evaluated using the methods described in
BLM Technical Note No. 346. The erosion condition composite soil
surface factor score for this site is 7.1, which places it in the
Stable erosion class. The tabulated results for this survey are
shown in Table 3.
Block 5
Moffat Area, Block 5 was evaluated using the methods described in
BLM Technical Note No. 346. The erosion condition composite soil
surface factor score for this site is 6.0, which places it in the
Stable erosion class. The tabulated results for this survey are
shown in Table 4.
The area of concern on the blocks not specifically surveyed in the
fall (Blocks 3 and 6) is that they are newly topsoiled and have not
had a chance for vegetation to establish. The spring look at these
areas showed minor erosion problems but no major problems. It is
expected that the contour seeding and working of these areas during
seeding will fix any problems that do exist, much the same as was
the case with Block 2 last year. For this reason no remediation
actions beyond seeding and tilling is proposed for these blocks at
this time. Remediation actions for surveyed areas will be covered
in the following tables.
4/18/94 DLB
