shown as the sources of the emissions because the pollutants are released to the
• atmosphere at these points.
All applicable Construction Permit Applications, Title V Operating Permit
Applications, Air Pollution Emission Notices, and Compliance Plans will be filed in
the manner and within the timeframe required by the CDPHE Air Quality Division.
Air Emissions
•
Maximum estimated annual emissions from the sources of air pollutants listed
above for the Piceance Site and the Parachute Site are summarized in Table 8-1.
Table 8-1 Yankee Gulch Project Maximum Estimated Annual Emissions.
Emission Source NO, PM HC
Site Group (tpy) (tpy) (tpy)
Process Gas
Piceance (Combustion Gas) 115.5 0.11 0.57
Process Gas
Parachute (Combustion Gas) 79.1 130.92 0.14
Secondary
Parachute Ventilation 0.0 40.41 0.00
(Baghouses)
Yankee Gulch
Project Total 194.6 171.43 0.71
The boilers and emergency generators will have emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOS),
which will be controlled through proper combustion control practices. In addition,
the generators will emit particulate matter (PM) and hydrocarbons (HC).
The Parachute Site dryer scrubber and dryer electrostatic precipitator will produce
only process-related particulate emissions. The particulate emissions from the
Parachute Site secondary ventilation dust collectors are less than the standards for
Non-Metallic Mineral Processing. For all emission units, the anticipated emission
levels of pollutants other than NOS, PM, and HC will be insignificant.
Projected Air Ouality Impacts
America Soda is currently modeling the air quality impacts from the proposed
Yankee Gulch Project according to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and
State of Colorado modeling guidance. The modeling analyses will be conducted for
• NO, and PM,o emissions from the generators and boilers and for PM,o emissions
from the dryer, baghouses, and storage bins.
