Revegetation should be comparable to that of the <br />surrounding area and native species are to be <br />preferred. <br />7. where overburden must be removed to conduct mining <br />operations, topsoil moat be segregated and preserved. <br />8. Disturbances to the hydrologic balance and disturbances <br />to surface and ground water must be minimized. <br />9. Surrounding areas must be protected from slides or <br />other damage. <br />10. All surface areas must be stabilized to control <br />erosion and air and water pollution. <br />11. The operator, subject to Board approval and landowner <br />consultation, must determine which parts of the <br />affected land will be reclaimed for specific types of <br />uses. <br />12. Where the operator elects forest planting, he ie to <br />select the tree types and he must plant in accordance <br />with sound forestry practices. <br />13. Fire lanes or access roads are to be constructed <br />where necessary in areas of forest planting. <br />14. where the operator allows public access for <br />recreation purposes, he is accorded certain limited <br />liability. <br />15. Where the operator's choice of reclamation is for <br />grazing, slopes must not ba too steep for livestock, <br />and standards for seeding are established. <br />16. Where the object of reclamation is agriculture, <br />general agricultural practices must be followed. <br />17. where development is the reclamation choice, minimum <br />requirements are to be agreed between the Board wind <br />the operator. <br />16.
