Page 4
Block 6
Moffat Area, Block 6 was evaluated using the methods described in
BLM Technical Note No. 346. The erosion condition composite soil
surface factor score for this site is 26.0, which places it in the
Slight erosion class. The tabulated results for this survey are
shown in Table 6. This block was also seeded in the spring of
1994, and as such, the vegetation is in the early stages. No
mitigation activity is scheduled on this block for 1995.
Block 7
Moffat Area, Block 7 was evaluated using the methods described in
BLM Technical Note No. 346. The erosion condition composite soil
surface factor score for this site is 43.0, which places it in the
Moderate erosion class. The tabulated results for this survey are
shown in Table 7. Mitigation activities are planned for the
western edge of this block where gullies have formed. This area is
new topsoil from 1994 activities and vegetation has not yet
established.
Block 8
Moffat Area, Block 8 was evaluated using the methods described in
BLM Technical Note No. 346. The erosion condition composite soil
surface factor score for this site is 43.0, which places it in the
Moderate erosion class. The tabulated results for this survey are
shown in Table 8. Mitigation activities are planned for this
entire block in 1995. This is new topsoil from 1994 activities and
has not yet been seeded.
Block 9
Moffat Area, Block 9 was evaluated using the methods described in
BLM Technical Note No. 346. The erosion condition composite soil
surface factor score for this site is 36.0, which places it in the
Slight erosion class. The tabulated results for this survey are
shown in Table 9. Mitigation activities are planned on this area
for gullies above the Moffat Area Pond. Gullies formed by springs
forming at the base of the southern section of this block will not
be repaired at this time. It is felt that with one more year of
spring activity this area will begin to express itself in several
more orderly and consistent springs. once this pattern is
established the flows will be concentrated in some sort of
protective channel and the other gully areas repaired.
6/22/95 DLB
