<br />plan for the property. <br /> <br />On June 1, 1989, a technical revision (TR-10) was approved which suspended hydrologic monitoring at <br />the site. <br />On March 8, 1990, a technical revision (TR-11) was approved that added a sediment control pond. <br />On July 30, 1990, Kaiser Steel Resources applied for a Phase I Bond Release, requesting a reduction in <br />the $250,000.00 performance warranty, to a new amount of $100,000.00. The application was deemed <br />complete upon receipt of the proof of publication of public notice on October 1, 1990. The Division <br />scheduled and conducted a bond release inspection on October 19, 1990. The request was subsequent]y <br />approved on December 3l, I990. <br />On January 22, 1992, a technical revision (TR-12) was approved that removed sedimentation control <br />ponds A and B. <br />On November 9, 1992, Kaiser Steel Resources applied for a Phase II Bond Release, requesting a <br />reduction in the then-posted $100,000.00 performance warranty to a new amount of $37,500.00. The <br />application was found incomplete on November 24, 1992. <br />On April 22, 1993, Kaiser Steel Resources submitted an application for a permit revision (PR-O1) to <br />reduce the permit area and consolidate the permit documents. On June 3, 1993, Kaiser Steel Resources <br />became Kaiser Resources, Inc., and requested this name change be reflected in the permit revision <br />application. <br />On June 25, 1993 and August 25, 1993, Kaiser Resources submitted additional information pertaining to <br />the Phase II Bond Release found incomplete on November 24, 1992. Following a meeting with Division <br />personnel on September 14, 1993, at which the Division determined that the revegetation standards for <br />Phase II release were not being met at the mine site, Kaiser Resources, on September l7, 1993 requested <br />withdrawal of the Phase II Bond Release request. <br />On September 19, 1993, the Division proposed approval of Permit Revision No. I. Final approval <br />occurred on October 1, 1993 following the end of the public comment period. <br />On October 7, 1993, Kaiser Resources, Inc. submitted an application for permit renewal (RN-02). <br />Because the operator failed to submit the application by September 10, 1993, the Division, on October 14, <br />1993, notified the operator that mining operations would have to cease if the new, renewed permit was <br />not issued before March 12, 1994. <br />On October 20, 1993, the Division found the application for permit renewal (RN-02) complete. On <br />December 20, 1993, the Division received the operator's proof of publication. On January 31, 1994, the <br />Division received a request from Kaiser Resources to extend the decision due date of the Division review <br />from February 1, 1994 to April 1, 1994. On March 14, 1994, the Division proposed to approve the <br />application for permit renewal, as the adequacy review conducted by the Division found no issues of <br />concern. <br />3 <br />
