The determinations of the
aquifer characteristics, transmissivity and storativity, are required
under Rule 2.04.7(b), in order to estimate the cone of influence pro-
duced by mine inflows, the quantity of mine water inflows, and the
quantity of water depleted by mining from ground and surface water
sources. The following stipulation is therefore necessary for a finding
I~j/,~' of compliance with Rule 2.04.7(b).
~~ `S tipuZa ti on: THE APPLICANT SHALL CONDUCT NEW PUhfPING TESTS ON h7ELLS
COIIPLETED IN THE BARREN i+fEi~1BER AND F SEAN!. These aquifers
may be impacted by underground mining and/or surface facilities. Since
the F seam and Barren Member of the Mesa Verda Formation subcrop beneath
the alluvium of Dry Fork, Lick Creek, South Prong, and Horse Creek,
Mining the F seam may induce increased recharge from the alluvium to the F .seam
and Barren Member, thereby reducing the quantity of ground water in the
alluvium and the flow of water within the associated stream. In order
to insure the applicant has adequate baseline prior to mining outside of
the present 5 year permit area, and to assess the impacts of mining
beneath the alluvium of the for mention streams, the following
\ stipulation is necessary for permit approval.
Na Stipulation: THE APPLICANT MUST INSTALL MONITORING WELLS IN, CONDUCT PUMPING
TEST ON, RND MONITOR WATER LEVELS AND WATER QUALITY IN THE ALLUVIUM OF
DRY FORK, LICK CREEK, SOUTH PRONG AND HORSE CREEK ONE YEAR PRIOR TO
MINING WITHIN THE WATERSHEDS OF THESE STREAhfS. THE APPLICANT SHALL
SUBMIT TO THE DIVISION THE DATA AND RESULTS OF THESE TESTS AND MONITORING
ALONG WITH PROJECTED IMPACTS PRIOR TO CONDUCTING MINING [^IITNIN ANY OF THE
WATERSHEDS.
VII. Alluvial Vallecl Floors (2.06.8, 4.
Identification of Alluvial Vally Floors
The applicant has identified four areas within or adjacent to the mine p:.an
area which may meet the geomorphic criteria of alluvial valley floors.
Alluvial. deposits were identified along Minnesota Creek, Dry Fork Minnesota
