We
have also addressed some other changes on this map.
The original mining plan called for the extraction to begin immediately south of the
well and proceed in a southwardly direction to the south end of Phase I. Luckily we
began mining on the south side of what we believed at that time to be an abandoned
ditch. As it turned out, the ditch was reactivated by the adjacent land owner and
used for irrigation purposes on land to the east of our staging area. The ditch
location shows on the map and is labeled as Intermittent Ditch. We have also re-
aligned another ditch along the southern and eastern edge of the property for the
adjacent land owner. This is the ditch we were building during your last inspection.
Mining in Phase I began along the south side of the intermittent ditch and proceeded
to the south. The pit wall along the west edge was left near vertical, while the other 3
sides were sloped as we mined. Much of the pit floor is covered with aggregate
stockpiles, we have not applied overburden or topsoil to the floor or side slopes.
The upper area of Phase I that lies north of the intermittent ditch is also used for
aggregate stockpiles. We have no intent on mining this area between the well and
the ditch.
We would like to begin mining Phase II working the entire face from north to south,
mining to the west. Aggregates will continue to be stockpiled either on the pit floor or
in Phase I or Phase II north of the ditch.
.•n1,rn...~
~c~,
O~, n
Y.
Equal Opportunity Employer
