In attendance on our part will be: <br />- Steve Goodrich, Plant Manager, Cemex <br />- Monica Sowders, Environmental Manager, Cemex <br />- Alan Notary, P.E., Brown and Caldwell <br />- Paul Banks, Banks and Gesso, LLC <br />The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the new Cemex people and provide a <br />progress report on the tasks related to C-Pit. We would like to suggest another meeting <br />in early November, to present the detailed results of C-Pit pumping, water quality <br />monitoring and the plans for the future, which at this time are not yet finalized. <br />You had asked me in our phone conversation if there was any new data we could <br />submit prior to October 4"'. There is. <br />Attached is a graph of water surface elevation vs. time showing a 7-foot decline in the <br />C-Pit water surface due to the consumptive use pumping. The pumping ceased in early <br />August because of some process problems in the spray tower resulting from the <br />chemistry pf C-Pit water. Subsequently, pumping was restarted but the pump failed- <br />Cemex is working on these matters and pumping has or will shortly resume. We will <br />report more on this at the October 4"' meeting. <br />In addition to lowering the water level in C-Pit by pumping to the spray tower, Cemex <br />has decreased the area of the water surface by regrading and filling in the pool at the <br />
