The tabulated results for this survey are shown in Table 10. The spoil
'
springs and seeps in this block have formed a system of small drainage channels. These ch annels
continue to stabilize wit h armored bottoms and increased vegetatio n along the channel edges.
No corrective measures a re planned as a result of the inve ntory.
Table 10: Moffat Area Block 9 Erosion Condition Classification
' Possible
Item Score 2000 1999 1998 1997 1996 1995
'
Soil Movement 14 0 0 0 3 5 5
Surface Litter 14 0 0 0 3 0 6
' Surface Rock Fragments
Pedestalling 14
14 0
0 0
0 0
0 3
0 5
0 2
0
Flow Patterns 15 0 0 0 3 5 9
Rills 14 3 3 3 6 6 9
'
Gullies 15 3 3 3 6 9 6
Total 100 6 6 6 24 30 37
' Erosion Condition Classi fication: Stable Stable Stable Slight Slight Slight
Block ]0
The erosion condition composite SSF score for this area was 12, which placed it in the
Stable erosion class. The tabulated results for this survey are shown in Table 11. The area was
' seeded in late 1996. Several gullies connecting to the final pit drainage channel existed in the
block. The gullies originally resulted from late summer storm activity in 1997. The gullies were
repaired and seeded in 1998. Vegetation has been slow to reestablish with minor gullies
' beginning to reform. Corrective measures planned as a result of the inventory include roughing-
up and seeding the new gully activity.
8
