't

• The concrete batch plant is a portable plant requiring permanent, substantial concrete
foundation footers only to be constructed. The Silver Hawk Ranch owner has consented to
allow the footers to remain following termination of the gravel pit operation. The well and
electrical service is intended for permanent Ranch use and is to also remain. Mixer drum
wash-out is to be disposed of onsite, covered with earth and left below the finished surface at
the site, the same as the concrete foundation footers. The owner's notarized letter of
approval for these features is attached.
• Financial warranty for the added operation areas of the Feedlot Unit and the Northwest Unit
has been calculated and corporate bonding shall be immediately submitted to Division upon
concurrence of the Division for the calculated quantities.
Overburden stripped from the 2.59-acre remainder of the Northwest Unit to be mined shall
be back-filled into the near-vertical headwall at the north boundary for slope reduction to 3:1.
It estimated that approximately 19,000 yards of that overburden is available from that area
following removal and stockpiling (just to the south) of the 6 to 12-inch depth of topsoil.
The balance of the estimated 27,200 yards needed for that slope reduction (8,200 CY) shall
be pushed up from leveling the pit floor and shall be brought from the overburden stockpile
at the southeast corner of the NW Unit, just northwest of the Secondary Access Road.
Overly-steep excavated portions of the North-Central unit shall be slope-reduced by "cut &
fill" dozer operations from the uncompleted north boundary portions of that unit.
• Overburden and topsoil stockpiles have been indicated on the attached site map. Current
mining has also been indicated thereon.
• Currently no reclamation seeding that would require fencing to prevent livestock grazing has
been performed. Supplemental fencing to completely enclose the reclaimed site has been
addressed in the attached revised Reclamation Costs analysis. The revised Financial
Warranty shall reflect those additions.
• Topsoil stockpiles currently remaining un-vegetated have been seeded and mulched.
Approval of the above described technicn/ revisions to Permit M 94-011 are hereby requested.
Sincerely,
WEST END GRAVEL COMPANY, INC.
By .~o~.yPa~ ~ ~o,.ya., Geological Services
Agent for the Permittee
Bob Sutherland, Corporate Secretary
3
