• i
incorporated into the Foidel Creek mine permit. Please submit
a certification statement which specifically states which
design information is accurate and all other requirements of
the policy memo. Also, information in Exhibit 8 of Permit No.
C-82-056 is unclear as to whether Pond D, Pond E, site 114
(Emerald Spring) , or some combination of the three, are the
approved locations for site 109 mine water discharge. Text on
page 2.05-95, 2.05-96 seems to indicate Pond D is the approved
mine dewatering pond, yet TR-18 documents indicate otherwise.
PLease correct all information as appropriate.
Pond E
Current SEDCAD+ modelling does not include a base flow to
Pond E, yet text in Exhibit a indicates mine water discharge
can be routed to Pond E. Present dewatering activities are
occurring to Pond D. A question was posed to TCC during TR-18
review " . . .the Division's understanding from the text is that
the only change from TR-18 (with regard to Pond D) is that Pond
D will no longer receive underground mine water discharge.
References to Pond D receiving mine water discharge (Ex. 8-3)
should be removed from the text" . TCC's response was "The
above reference was removed from the text" . (See also DMG
concern A in the TCC letter to the Division, March 16, 1995
(TR-18) and TCC letter dated March 30, 1995, (TR-18) ] . Please
clarify the discharge of site 109 mine water in detail and
correct Exhibit 8, text pages, and any other information to
reflect approved activities.
Design information from Permit No. C-81-071 should be included
in the Foidel Creek mine permit as appropriate. A
certification statement as described in the Policy Memorandum ,
should also be submitted for Pond E referencing specific design
criteria.
Pond F
Design and certification appears accurate for this pond.
Please incorporate the appropriate information into the Foidel
Creek mine permit.
Pond G
Please include appropriate design information from Permit No.
C-81-071 into the Foidel Creek permit. A certification
statement for Pond G is also required.
Fish Creek Borehole Ponds
Maps 26, 27, 28, and 32 do not reflect an accurate depiction
of the Fish Creek borehole ponds and facility in general .
Accurate design information is required and this impoundment
must be certified as per the Policy Memorandum.
-12-
