of the shaft or at the drill steel at the top of the shaft,
drilling will be halted immediately, and additional air will
be supplied to dilute the methane. The mine foreman will be
notified of this level of methane or higher immediately. If at
any time, 1.08 methane is reached, drilling will be halted and
power removed from the affected area. If at any time, 1.58
methane is detected, drilling will be halted, power removed
from the mine, and the mine evacuated because of the location
of the shaft.
When the raise bore bit (5-foot diameter) is lifted to within
5-feet of the hole completion, the mine will be idled, the
miners withdrawn and the power removed until the hole is
completed. At this time, the mine will be examined to assure
that the ventilation has not been affected.
In the unlikely event that blasting results in the muck
plugging the raise borehole after the blast, a small mine fan
will be available to provide ventilation to the muck Wile to
clear the gases and provide ventilation while the hole is
lanced open.
Shaft Lining:
During the lining phase of the construction, the air flow will
be controlled at the shaft bottom so mine operations are not
affected.
77.1900 SHAFT CONSTRUCTION PLAN
77.1900 (A)(1) Mine
Foidel Creek Mine
Oak Creek, Routt County, Colorado
MSHA I.D. # 05-03836
77.1900 (A)(2) Operator
...
Twentymile Coal Company
29515 Routt County Road #27
Oak Creek, Colorado 80967
(303) 879-3800
APPROVED CMS & H PA A R 2 x'95
l 4
