l
Mr. Norm Every
August 8, 1996 - Mautz Damage Complaint
Page 2
2) A detailed analysis regarding the cause of the observed features. Evaluate whether these
features are directly related to subsidence, land sliding, or both. As part of this analysis,
evaluate the ground observations relative to the current permit predictions regarding
subsidence.
3) A detailed health and safety risk analysis relative to all surface crack features. Include all
features located both on and off roads. Please also provide observations relative to the
diminution of use issue.
4) A detailed repair plan, including specific schedules, to address the possible subsidence
damage to any structures, any health and safety risk, and to mitigate any reduction in value
and diminution of reasonably foreseeable use of the affected lands. Address all areas of
possible damage, including the Lone Pine road referenced in the Mautz letter of July 10,
1996.
5) A proposal addressing any needed changes to the current permit monitoring, subsidence
predictions, and mitigation sections as appropriate.
We plan to visit the Mautz property beginning at 8:00 a.m. on August 27, 1996. Please attempt
to submit the requested analyses prior to our inspection.
Thank you for your continued cooperation.
Senior Environmental Protection Specialist
DAB/gaw
ce: Susan McCannon
Jim Pendleton /
Mike Boulay /
Attachment
M:\of~\gew\Every.Eab
