The following information covers the time period from
August 12, 1997 -August 17, 1997.
General Construction Summary and Schedule
Excavation of Phase 1C and Phase 1D of the RPE and creation of structural fill via screening
operations continues. With the exception of the Lower Sylvester Gulch Road (and MSE Walls A-
E) and the detention pond above the Shaft #1 and #2 site, construction activities are in progress
on all sub-tasks of the project. Construction of the Pond SG-1 embankments is approximately
50% complete. Installation of the 54" Clearwater diversion (CCW-1B) is approximately 40%
complete. Excavation of the north slope of the shaft sites, for final alignment of the Main Access
Road from Station 85 to end, and excavation of the Electric Borehole Road continue. MSE wall
F-1 and F-2 construction continues with approximately 16 lifts (24 feet maximum fill height)
completed as of August 16. Concrete work at the substation is approximately 80% complete, and
distribution and transmission line pole setting is approximately 50% complete. Brief afternoon
showers occurred at the site throughout the week with a significant rain occurring Tuesday night.
