No. 4-D gravel pit will be excavated. <br />Consumptive use credits were developed ug~ng the modified SCS-Blaney Griddle method for <br />determining evapotranspiration. The U.S.G.S. Professional Paper 600-D: A Sugeested <br />Method for Estima(ipgsEvayotransniration by Native Phreatooh"vtes, by S.E. Rantz, was used <br />as a reference to determine the K valtie for a tnix of Cottonwood and Willows. Credits are <br />claimed for May through October in the amount of 1.75 acre feet. <br />Operation of Plan for Augmentation <br />It is anticipated that a call will occur at.the Redlands Power Canal in Grand Junction <br />from the months of September througl; ApFi1., Aepletions assogiated with the Paonia No.3 <br />Gravel Pit aze calculated to be 2.24 acre feet annually, which figure is inclusive of 0.82 acre <br />fee[ for the months pf September through ~1pri1. Depletions assOci~,ted with the Paonia No. 4- <br />D Grave! Pit aze calculated to be 10.8 acre feet annually, which figure is inclusive of 3.97 <br />acre feet for the trtot~ths~f September t1~r~~h,~ril. DepletitZAs associated with the moisture <br />loss in the mined matgFial ati;the.4-I). G~art~,l`,P.~T,~rill occur throughout the life of the mining <br />operation in the amount of 5.24 acre feet. Credits claimed forphreatophyte removal offset <br />some of the depletions and are calculated to be 1.75 acre feet annually. Table 3 in Appendix B <br />is a water balance which shows depletions, credits, and the net augmentation requirements. <br />Since the mining operation is subject t0'11te market demands, an accounting sheet is <br />attached for the purposes of determining actual~onthly and annual depletions associated with <br />moisture loss in the mined material and dust suppression from gravel crushing and evaporation <br />from the gravel pits. The accounting sheet will~e•filled out monthly and sent to the Division <br />Engineer's Office annually or upon demand. <br />To augment'out of priority depletions atihe Paonia No.3 Gravel Pit and the Paonia No. <br />4-D Gravel Pit, DS&G will purchase a Ovate; seiviFe contract f~pTtt JYte Bureau of Reclamation. <br />During times of valid downstream ca]]s on the Gunnison River or at the request of the Division <br />Engineer, releases will be made in the amol}pt~ shown in Table 2 from the reservoirs of the <br />Aspinall Unit to replace out of priority depletions at the Paonia No. 3 Gravel Pit and the <br />Paonia No. 4-D Gravel Pit. <br />6.
