Commitment number 33 reads:
3.3. "Design and specification changes, as defined in Section 6.05 of the CQA plan and
technical specifications, shall only be made with written agreement of the OMLR. "
On June 1, 1994, while your Office staff met with us at the "pre-construction meeting," you
briefly reviewed the issue of modifying the diversion channel system immediately upgradient of
Stale Highway 67. Later you traversed the proposed route in the company of representatives
from Golder Associates. This letter transmits the final hydraulic design computations along with
the basin delineation map for your review and concurrence.
This design, which involves minor relocation of the primary diversion ditch located upgradient
of Highway 67, does eliminate the culvert under Highway 67 on the east side of the Project Area
and instead routes the flow into the larger box culvert at the west end of the Project area. More
specifically, the southeast subbasins (S1F, S2F, and S3F routing in channels 10 and 11 are
modified. The diversion that routed flow into the Wilson Creek drainage is now changed to
route flow back into Arequa Gulch over to the box culvert under Highway 67 that has always
been planned for west of the Carlton Mill. These modifications appeared desirable based on
field reconnaissance. Channels 16 and 4 are involved.
