TASK 7 Equipment Rental
a) Additional Bulldozer Work
The existing drainage pattern, on and adjacent to the project area, is
shown on the drainage map included in this bid document (See Drainage
Plan). Also depicted on this diagram are Droposed drainage
improvements. POND A (existing) receives run-off from the northwestern
portion of the property and will remain in place. In this phase of the
project, the CONTRACTOR will reclaim any disturbance caused to this
drainage during the course of the project to restore the integrity of
this drainage and existing sediment pond.
An existing drainage which enters the project area from the west and
crosses through the central portion of the site, generally follows the
historical channel. The PIT 1 & PIT 2 complex excavation has since
captured some of the run-off from this channel. The CONTRACTOR will also
perform what surface work is required to restore all storm run-off to
this historic channel in such a fashion as to insure that Pond 8 is
utilized in sediment control. This will require the CONTRACTOR to
establish a drainage Swale from just west of the reclaimed strip-pits,
running northeast into Pond B (See Drainage Plan). This drainage Swale
has an estimated length of 500 feet. The dimensions of the drainage
Swale shall be 12 feet wide and one foot (1 ') deep with side slopes set
at 4:1 (h orizontal:vertical ). The Project Manager will provide reference
stakes to delineate the channel location. Any cut material proaiced from
establishing the drainage Swale shall be used as topsoil material and
will be placed according to the instructions of the PROJECT MANAGER.
Any additional bulldozer work which may arise will also be covered under
this task.
Specifications 15.0 of the "Standard Work Specification included in the
CMLRD General Bid Specifications, 1989 applies to this bid item.
b) Measurement and Payment
Payment for tJiis task will be reflectea under Item 7 of the Bid Scheti~le
as an hourly rate for a CAT D-6 bulldozer or equivalent machine. The
hourly rate bid shall refl ect the CONTRACTORS estimate for equipment and
personnel costs per hour to complete the task. Measurement will be
actual hours required to compl ete work dull fined above and/or other work
as directed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. See also Specification
15 .0 of the CMLRD General Bid Spe ci fi ca ti ons , 1989.
9915E/scg
3/ 25/ 91
-13-
