Within the findings
document, discussions of local and regional geology are contained in the
description of the environment portion of the Summary Section and in
Subsection C, Regional Geology of Section VIII, Probable Hydrologic
Consequences and Cumulative Hydrologic Impact Study.
The application is found to be in compliance with Rules 2.04.5 and 2.04.6(2)
for Eagle Mines 5, 5A and 6.
VI. Hydrologic Balance - Rules 2.04.5, 2.04.7, 2.05.3(4), 2,05.6(3) and 4.05
A. Ground Water Information
Ground water hydrology is described within the permit application in Sections
2.04.5, 2.04.7, and 2.05.6. Additional data and information appears in Tables
3, 4, 5, 6, 7, tl, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, i8, 18A, 14, 20, 23, 28, 29, 30, 73,
74, 75, 76, 77, Figures 12-24, 30-32; Exhibits 7, 8, 10, 30, 31, 32, 33; and
Maps 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17. Descriptions of ground water occurrence, ground
water monitoring, and mining impacts on ground water within the permit and
adjacent areas can be found in Section VIII, Probable Hydrologic Consequences
and Cumulative Hydrologic Impact Study of this document.
The applicant has supplied sufficient
quantity, with certain stipulations,
Eagle No. 5, 5A and No. 6 Mines.
information on ground water quality and
to make findings of compliance for the
B. Surface Water Information
The surface water information within the permit application is found in
Sections 2.04.7, 2.05.6 and 4.05.15, and in Tables 20-30 and 75-77. Figures
21 through 35 also include information of surface water hydrology. The
regional geology and hydrology and water rights in the vicinity on the mine
are shown on Maps 6 and 16 respectively. A description of surface water
occurrence and mining impacts on surface water within the permit and adjacent
areas can be found in Section VIII, (Probable Hydrologic Consequences of
Mining and Cumulative Hydrologic Impacts Study) of this document.
With the acceptance of the hydrologic stipulations, the Division finds there
is sufficient information within the permit application to find `this section
in compliance.
VII. Alluvial Valley Floors
The applicant has determined that alluvia] valley floors exist along both the
Yampa and the Williams Fork valleys within the permit and adjacent area. This
determination is based upon the fact that flood irrigated agricultural
activities are practiced on unconsolidated streamlaid deposits along both
-15-
